Rainier Yurts by Rainier Industries
Rainier Industries is an international manufacturer of innovative fabric, shelter and display products based in Seattle, Washington. Our origins go back to 1896, when we supplied tents and fabric camping accessories to gold prospectors heading for the Alaska Klondike gold rush.
Jenny Pell and Will Hays founded the company that originated the Rainier Yurt design, Nesting Bird Yurts. Their goal was to improve on the design of yurts available on the market. In 1994, yurts had not seen any innovation or creative design improvements for a decade. Pell and Hays' primary mission was to use modern products that were environmentally safe both for craftsmen and yurt owners. From the early days of Nesting Bird's development, Rainier was there, supplying high quality materials, expertise, and services.
In March of 2004, Rainier purchased the assets of Nesting Bird and moved all operations into our Seattle area facility. Our philosophy and that of the founders of Nesting Bird have always been the same: to deliver the highest standards of beauty and quality. Now a decade later, the Rainier Eagle yurt has established itself as the premier high-end yurt in the industry. After purchasing Nesting Bird's assets, we developed the more economical Raven yurt to fill out our product line.
Our 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space features state-of-the-art wood, frame and fabric shops staffed with the finest craftsmen. Rainier stands behind our products. We're proud to claim the highest customer satisfaction in our industry.
